Happy Fall, Ya'll!

I'm delighted that cooler weather is moving in to our area.  I'm ready for fall.  It's time to wear jeans again, dig out my sweaters, and layer it up.  It's time for crunching leaves and drinking hot drinks while you wait your turn to jump into the leaf pile (it's okay to still do that after 40, right?)  It's time for hunting (yes, I do!)  It's time to decorate with warm colors and pumpkins.  I was excited to see that some of the things I had made last year survived the year in the attic and still look good.  I especially love the simple paper pennants tied with twine to sticks and poked into a canning jar filled with popcorn seeds.  I added the little scarecrow this year.  My banner (see this post) also made it and I still love it!  Happy Fall Ya'll!

More Layouts From Sketches

Most of my layouts lately have been based on sketches.  I felt a little behind on Hannah-girl's album, so I wanted to catch up quickly.  For me, sketches speed up the process.  I usually cut out the sketches from magazines like Scrapbooks Etc. and Creating Keepsakes and keep them in a file.  I also use other blogs and websites, like the monthly Stack-a-Holic sketch from DCWV (see previous post).  I recently came across PageMaps, which posted a great sketch and a contest.
Here's the sketch:

I really liked the 3 little photos in a row.  I went into my DCWV stacks again - this is "The Green Stack".  The title is from the Hannah Montana cartridge.  I just love that Hannah wants to be helping her daddy all the time.  Let's hope it carries on as she grows older!

Here's a few more layouts I've recently completed - they were all based on various sketches I have saved in my "idea notebook".

I am now officially "caught up" through February and have miscellaneous layouts done from more recent months.  I still feel a little behind as I like to be caught up within 6 months.  I have a scrapbooking getaway weekend planned in November, so maybe I'll get caught up then.  Happy Scrappin' Friends!

Colorful Layout with Our Girl and DCWV

Hannah came up to me with these fun striped tights, then the socks, shoes, necklace, hat.  She put this colorful outfit together herself and was proud that it "matched" the shirt.  Such a colorful girl deserves a colorful layout!  The lovely papers are from DCWV - Modern Bouquet stack.  I used the Sophisticated cartridge for the butterflies and the title letters.  The sketch is also DCWV's September Stack-a-holic Sketch - you can see it on the DCWV blog.

Cookie Sheet Message Center

I'm getting ready to host our first FaithKeeping event for the school year and our September project is ready to go!  We will be making a cookie sheet message center.  The message center can be hung up in your kitchen or near your desk - or wherever you need a little space for reminders and messages.  Half of the cookie sheet is painted with chalkboard paint and the other half is corkboard.  We will have materials to make a couple of magnets and pins/thumbtacks for your board, too.  What a cute place to put up reminders of God's love, a special scripture verse, or your Bible Study schedule.
If you're local, FaithKeeping will be on Saturday, September 24th, 1pm - 4pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  E-mail me or sign up to get more information.

Authentique Layout

I love scrapping these last photos with Hannah and Scout. As I come across them, each is more special than the last. We sure miss our Scoutdog around here. Luckily we will always have our memories in our hearts and preserved in our scrapbooks. Here's a layout with Hannah and Scout - I think he may have been waiting for a little treat from her. She was just using him as a back rest. I used up some of my remaining Authentique papers - time to buy some more! :)
The layout is based on their blog sketch for September.

I'm thinking about my brother's wedding and the scrapbook I'll be putting together for him and his new wife, Angela. I can't wait to get started.  I created one last year for my brother in law and his wife and realized I never shared most of the layouts, so I put them into a slide show. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to get the album sent off, so I didn't take photos of every layout and some were taken while still in the album sleeve (glare!). Hope you still enjoy looking through them. When I get Tom & Angela's album done, I'll add to it and repost.
