Favorite Dad Layouts

In honor of Father's Day this weekend, I thought I would share some of my favorite layouts created over the last year or so of my daughter and the world's greatest husband and dad.  I love taking photos of these two together and then creating a layout of their special relationship.  I really wish I had more photos of my dad and me together.  I miss that man more than words can say.  I hope you enjoy these layouts and may your hearts be filled this weekend of precious memories of you and your dads, the dad-like influences in your life, and the perfect and ever-present love of our heavenly dad.

Teacher Appreciation Totes

This year we created a tote for each of Hannah's teachers.  We went with an orange theme and I created a cute "Orange you glad it's summer" tag to tie onto each tote.  I just downloaded a cute free orange slice image and placed the words over it for the tag.  Print, cut, attach with orange and yellow ribbon.
I used my Cricut to create the stencil for the bag.  The doily is a background from the Edge to Edge cartridge and I inserted a monogram from the TC Sophisticated font. It cut out in one piece with my Cricut.  I applied just a little non permanent adhesive to help it stay in place while we painted.  I used a sponge dauber and orange fabric paint.  I think they sort of look like suns, which went perfectly with the summer theme.  Inside each tote is an orange beach towel and an orange water bottle.

I also made a card for a thank you message to each teacher.

"Manly-Man" Masculine Cards

Tis the season for "manly" cards.  Mine usually seem to focus on a hunting or outdoorsy theme because, well, that's who we are around here.  My husband will be attending an old USMC buddy's 50th birthday party and he said he needed a card with bullets.  Okay.  He also was specific on the sentiment he wanted in the card.   Here you go, honey - a 50th birthday bullet card!
The "50" card base was cut with my Cricut - it's from the Life's a Party cartridge.  I removed the original candles from the cut (use your hide contour to do this) and used these bullets from Outdoor Man instead.  Tada - "bullet candles."

Snicker, snicker.  He's a clever one with bullet humor, this husband of mine.
Need some more ideas?  Here's a few cards that I have made for my hubby...
We have the gun theme collection...
Check out Cricut's Outdoor Man and Stand and Salute cartridges for great masculine images.

And some general masculine cards...
The top left card is a "pre-finished" project that I found in Cricut Design Space
and cut with my new Cricut Explore.
